Monday, July 24, 2006 Took a short flight from Helsinki to London and arrived in Stansfield. Had to take a train in to town. First thing I did was meet my friend Saba and went straight to the pub to watch a World Cup match. This became a ritual for me the past week especially when England was playing. Tony Manfre I tried to play tourist even though I was busy shooting photos everyday. Josh Stewart and Charlie. Ill Will They love futball (soccer) here. The view from the apartment I stayed at. Thanks Josh. I went to our new friend Henry's Birthday party. It was in a basement of some pub. Olly Todd at home. Sam Ashley. Michael J. Fox It got a little crazy down there. Howard Cook! I like the new Sam Ashley. a little bit of R&B with a thugish edge to it. Its getting a little hot in here. Happy Birthday Henry! Next night I was introduced to my new favorite restaurant. S&M Cafe. It stands for Sausages and Mash....or something like that. Seth and Charlie. Jacob and Will Yum...check them veggie sausages and mash potatoes with baked beans. Did you know they like Futbol here? We hung out with Lampard Arrrgh! Three Lions representation. Game time. Goal!!! It ended up being a tie with Sweeden. Fast FWD to next day shredding with Mr. Jensen. Later that night hanging out with our new Sweedish friends. They were celebrating "Midsummer." It was Summer Solstice. Huh? American tourist. Puleo and some balls. Sunset. Met up with some English friends. Some American friends turned up out of nowhere too. We played some Futball. I sucked. England! uh...England!! lots of flags here. Walking somewhere in London and heard, "Brian Uyeda!" It was my friend Lia from Santa Cruz. It's been ten years since I've seen her last. Went to meet up with Manfre and some other dudes in Brixton. Shit was ghetto. These kids....we'll call them little shits one,two and three And little shit number four. They kept yelling at Tony everytime he rolled up to this big 21 stair hubba. It really stressed out Tony and made it a little bit sketchier when he was trying to grind this hubba. Check out the upcoming issue of Skateboarder for photo. Went to the vice bar later that night. Its a bar that got bought by Vice magazine. The locs just call it Vice bar now. Vaughn was tearing up the dance floor. These kids made me feel like I was back at home in the LES. This guy is like a Terry Richardson and Jason Dill clone. Deeli is a photographer from Kingpin. Photographers are supposed to be competitive and territorial, not friendly. Next morning I caught a flight back to Helsinki...
